The Best Places to Find Virtual Assistant Jobs Right Now

Are you a freelancer looking for virtual assistant jobs? Or are you just getting started in the VA world and are unsure of where to find great remote opportunities? Either way, you've come to the right place! Finding virtual assistant jobs isn't always easy and it can be SO intimidating at first. I was so worried that I wouldn't find any clients when I first started this business, just to be fully booked after a year, needing to hire a virtual assistant myself!

It can be hard to know where to look and what the best opportunities are. That's why I've compiled this list of the best places to find virtual assistant jobs right now. From well-known job boards to smaller online marketplaces, you're sure to find something that fits your skills and experience. Read on to learn more about the top places to look for virtual assistant jobs.

Check job boards

There are tons and tons of job boards that are made just for freelancers. Here are a few of the most popular ones:

1. Upwork - especially great for beginner virtual assistants and part-time gigs

These are awesome places to browse. Make sure you agree to receive email notifications so you can get fresh job openings sent to you right away.

Join Facebook groups

Facebook groups were one of my personal main ways to find new clients. There are some fantastic groups out there where small business owners and entrepreneurs are looking for help. Good keywords to search for when looking for suitable groups are 'small business', 'freelancer', 'entrepreneur', 'virtual assistant jobs', and 'remote jobs'.

💥 Be sure to read the group rules and guidelines, as some don't allow 'self-promotion' and you definitely don't want to get kicked out! Certain groups are specifically designed for people who are looking for help and people who are able to offer help, others aren't but they may offer things like 'Promotion Tuesdays', par example, where you're able to promote your business on a specific day of the week.

Even if self-promotion is not allowed, if you stumble across a conversation or a comment thread where someone is asking for help, feel free to reach out to them personally!

Use your personal and professional network

Finding a Virtual Assistant job doesn’t always have to involve going through the traditional job search channels. Reaching out to your personal contacts can be one of the most effective ways of finding a great job. Connect with family, friends, and acquaintances and ask them if they know of any companies looking to hire Virtual Assistants. I guarantee you that someone will know someone who knows someone who needs a VA! These connections could be extremely helpful in finding work.

If you’re self-employed or work from home, your personal network is even more valuable. Reach out to former colleagues, friends, or industry peers. They may have suggestions for where you can find opportunities for Virtual Assistant jobs. You never know what kind of advice or connections people can provide in your search for finding a Virtual Assistant job.

Don't forget about LinkedIn

When it comes to finding a virtual assistant job, LinkedIn is an incredibly valuable resource. With over 600 million users, there’s a high chance that employers are using the platform to find their ideal candidates. To start your job search on LinkedIn, create a professional profile and make sure you list any relevant skills and experience. Once your profile is complete, use the search bar to look for relevant job postings.

Additionally, take advantage of LinkedIn’s advanced search option. This allows you to narrow down your job search based on keywords, titles, and companies. You can also specify the location and the type of job you’re looking for. Make sure you also join relevant groups on the platform and interact with other professionals in your field. This will help you build relationships and increase your visibility to potential employers. With the right strategy, you’ll be able to find the perfect virtual assistant job on LinkedIn.

Check out Indeed

Indeed is one of the most popular job search engines, so it's no surprise that it can also be a great place to start when it comes to finding a virtual assistant job. Indeed allows you to search for specific skills, industries, or locations and provides an easy way to filter through job listings. It's also a great resource to check out if you're looking for a remote role as you can easily see which positions are open to remote work. You can even narrow down your search to just virtual assistant jobs, making it easier than ever to find a role that fits your needs. With its simple layout, Indeed makes it easy to scan through listings and find the one that's right for you. So if you're looking for a virtual assistant job, start by checking out Indeed.

Consider staffing agencies

Staffing agencies can be a great resource for finding a virtual assistant job. There are a few that are specifically focused on virtual assistants, such as Elite Virtual Assistant, Time etc, or Hello Rache. Hello Rache is specifically focused on providing virtual assistants to the healthcare, medical, and veterinary field. So if you have experience in that field, this one's for you!

Agencies like that are an awesome option if you're not looking to source your own leads - which is not everyone's jam. The agency will connect you with businesses who are looking to hire VAs if they think you're a great fit - an awesome way to save time and feel more secure.

Once you’re in, the agency should provide ongoing support and help you find more work as you gain experience in your virtual assistant role.
